Bounce House Age Guidelines and Capacity: What Augusta Parents Need to Know
Not every bounce house is built for every age group. Choosing a unit that matches your kids' ages and the size of your group keeps the party safer and more fun for everyone - here's how our units are grouped by age and capacity, and how to pick the right one for your event.
Toddler Units (Ages 5 and Under)
Our Toddlers category - including the Mini Lego and Mini Princess - is built specifically for kids under 5. These units have softer bounce surfaces, lower walls, and a smaller footprint than our full-size inflatables, so little ones aren't sharing space with bigger, faster-moving kids. If your party has a mix of toddlers and older siblings, consider booking a toddler unit alongside a full-size one so each age group has its own space.
Standard Units (Ages 5 and Up)
Most of our Bounce Houses and Event Certified inflatables are rated for ages 5 and up. These units are taller, with higher walls and more robust construction for bigger kids and more active play - but they're still not appropriate for toddlers, who should stick to a toddler-specific unit even if an older sibling is using a standard one at the same party.
How Many Kids Can Be Inside at Once
Every unit has a recommended number of "attendants" - the number of kids that should be inside at the same time for safe play. As a guide: our Moon Walker With Slide comfortably holds 8-12 children at a time, while a large unit like our All Star Obstacle is built for 10-14 riders moving through the course at once, with 2 adult monitors recommended instead of 1. Smaller toddler units and single-bouncer units are typically limited to fewer kids at a time - ask us for the recommended capacity when you book a specific unit.
What About Weight Limits?
Weight limits vary by unit and by how many kids are inside at once - a unit rated for 8-12 kids assumes an average kid-sized weight distributed across that group, not one or two much larger kids or adults bouncing at full force. As a general rule, mixing significantly different sizes or ages in the same unit at the same time increases injury risk more than raw weight does. If you have older teens or adults who want to bounce too, call us at 706-305-9328 and we can recommend a unit built for that kind of use, or suggest keeping adult use to brief, supervised turns rather than continuous group play.
Matching a Unit to Your Guest List
If your party spans a wide age range, the simplest solution is often two smaller units rather than one big one - a toddler unit for the little ones and a standard unit for ages 5 and up. If everyone is close in age, a single appropriately-sized unit like the Moon Walker With Slide or Space Chariots usually covers the whole group comfortably.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can toddlers and older kids use the same bounce house? We recommend against it when possible - toddler units are built with softer surfaces and lower walls specifically because young children shouldn't be bouncing alongside bigger, faster kids.
Is there a strict maximum number of kids allowed inside? Yes, each unit has a recommended capacity based on its size - exceeding it increases collision risk, so we ask that you keep an adult supervising and enforcing the limit during use.
Can adults use a bounce house? Most of our units are designed for kids. If you want adult use, call us and we'll recommend whether a specific unit can handle it or suggest an alternative.
What if I'm not sure which unit fits my group? Call or text 706-305-9328 with your kids' ages and group size, and we'll help you pick a unit that's the right fit.
